QUOTE OF THE WEEK

Summer afternoon - summer afternoon; to me those have always been the two most beautiful words in the English language.

Henry James

MY STUDENTS 2009-2010

After listening to Hand in my pocket by Alanis Morisette, we decided to write something inspired by the song.
Here are some of the texts that were written. We hope you like them. I'll post some more soon, they are just being proofread (being checked for errors).

I'm young but I'm strong
I'm sad but I'm smiling
I'm short but I'm happy
I'm shy but I'm fun
I'm tired but I'm working
I'm thin but I'm healthy
I want to sleep but I have a lot of work
I'm sad but I'm laughing

I refer to myself with this song as kind, sensitive, caring.
This is my sound and you know I'm a rapper.

Emma Pardo wrote three different versions. I'm posting the three of them because I think they are great and deserve to be read:

Version 1
I wanna fight but I can't.
I feel powerless, I feel sad
But this time I won't run.
I just wanna be bad

I think I'll be strong
I think I'll be able to fight
I think I'll kiss you
I think I'll change.

I think I won't give up
This time I won't be shy
This time I won't shut up
This time I'm not gonna cry.

But the truth is that
I want to fight, but I can't.
I feel powerless, I feel sad
But this time I will stay.
This time I won't run.
I just want to be bad.

But you know this is all 'cause of you
I didn't wanna feel this way, now I do.
You made me feel powerless, made me feel sad,
You were selfish, you were bad.

You didn't think of me
You didn't know I was there
You didn't know I could fight
You didn't know who I am

Version 2

I want to fight but I can't

Today I am happy but I feel sad
I feel tired but I have a lot of energy
I feel brave but I'm afraid

I really love you but I start doubting
I have a lot of friends but I feel alone
I want to fight but I can't
I'm generous but I feel selfish

I feel rebellious but everybody knows I'm not
I feel strong but I can't fight
I just want to feel free, just want to fight
For what I want, just want to feel free
Just want to tell you that I really love you

But now I feel free, free, free
'Cause I was with you
So now I feel free, free, free
And nothing is gonna change that
'Cause I feel free, free, free

Version 3
Today I am happy but I feel sad
I feel tired but I've got a lot of energy
I feel brave but I'm afraid.

I know I love you but I start doubting
I have many friends but I feel alone
I'm generous but I feel selfish
I want to fight but I can't

I feel rebellious but I am not
I feel strong but I can't fight
I'm just a little coward
That can't be free, that can't fight

I just wanna feel free, just want you to know that I really love you.

I'm kind but I'm selfish
I'm poor but I'm happy
I'm young but I'm tall
I'm intelligent but I'm crazy
I'm lazy but I'm working
I'm funny but I'm worried
I can change but I don't want to

I'm tired but I'm working
I'm sad but I'm smiling
I'm singing but I haven't a good voice
I'm calm but I am afraid
I want to cry but I try to laugh
I need to sleep but I can't close my eyes
I want to look at you but I do not see you.

________________________________________________________

I'm tall and I'm thin
I'm happy but I'm sad
I'm intelligent but I'm special
I'm friendly but it's hard
I love dancing but it is difficult
I'm girly but I'm simple.

ALL ABOUT ME

I'm lazy but I'm studying
I'm friendly but I haven't got many friends
I'm weird but I'm happy
I'm stupid but I don't care
I'm sad but I can laugh
That's everything about me:
You can love me or you can hate me but you can't change me
I can hate you but i can pretend
I can lie to you but you're smiling at me
I can be your hell but you're my heaven
I may shout at you but I love you
I can be worthless but if I'm with you I can be a flower.

"The seagulls screaming above me.
The heavy, grey rocks looked as if they were about to slide into the leaden sea.
The wind lifted my hair and I felt sudden gusts sting my face.
The spray from the waves hit my face and I could taste the salty water on my lips.
The damp, warm scent of the seaweed rose gently."
